2018 Mission Trip Descriptions
For our high school ministry, we offer three mission trips for our students to participate in. Students are encouraged to participate in different trips to see the Lord at work in different places, with different people, and with different cultures.
St. Louis, Missouri: Our students along with students from LEC (Leadership Empowerment Center) will be partnering with New City Fellowship (PCA) in the inner city of St. Louis. We will be helping their ongoing ministry programs including: tutoring elementary aged children, service projects for elderly, widowed and shut in people in the surrounding neighborhoods and putting on a backyard Bible Club each evening at a church member’s home to reach out to the families in their communities.
Merida, Mexico: For more than 15 years, our youth ministry has partnered with Shalom Church and Blas Pascal School in Merida, Mexico in numerous ways. With a heavy emphasis in manual labor and relationships, students are able to meet many Mexican students who have the same faith in Jesus, but live in a different culture. We will spend time getting to know other high school students from Merida, working on construction projects, and sharing the Gospel with those we encounter.
Budapest, Hungary: Our trip to Budapest involves a heavy dose a relational work. By putting on an English camp where students flock to learn English, our students create relationships and avenues to share the Gospel with many students who have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We put on skits, water fests, color wars, and games while helping Hungarians learn English. Most important, we spend time pursuing lasting relationships to talk about our beliefs and reasons for coming to Budapest.
